Despite all the amazing FareShare statistics around number of meals, numbers of charities and community groups, value of the savings we bring to these organisations, we are still only redistributing 5% of the surplus food that is fit for human consumption and could be redistributed. That 5% number drives us more than any other and we are focusing on getting to 20-25% of all surplus food.

To help us manage and achieve this growth we need to plan for success… and that may be where you come in…

About the role The core purpose of this role is to support us in our growth. Having grown extremely fast and predicting at least a doubling in our work over the next three years we need support to ensure that we are able to cope with such opportunities. Four main areas encompass this role.

Fundraising & Communications Manager

Location: Moulsecoomb, Brighton

About the role FareShare Sussex is one of 21 Regional Centres that operate locally to ensure food that would otherwise go to waste is being used positively to support people that need it most. It currently delivers over 40 tonnes of food a week to 100 service providers and charities including homeless shelters, food banks, children’s centres and lunch clubs. This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of FareShare Sussex at a time of expansion. Working in a small staff team, you will be responsible for delivering allocated activities in the sustainable fundraising strategy and raising the profile of the organisation through effective communications activities.
