Despite all the amazing FareShare statistics around number of meals, numbers of charities and community groups, value of the savings we bring to these organisations, we are still only redistributing 5% of the surplus food that is fit for human consumption and could be redistributed. That 5% number drives us more than any other and we are focusing on getting to 20-25% of all surplus food.

To help us manage and achieve this growth we need to plan for success… and that may be where you come in.

Corporate Partnerships Manager

About the role: FareShare is looking to recruit a talented and experienced individual to help deliver our corporate fundraising strategy. This is an exciting time to join FareShare, as we are experiencing growth across the charity and have a fantastic portfolio of corporate partnerships, including many household brands.

We are looking for someone ambitious who wants to contribute to our high performing fundraising team, and has natural leadership skills to inspire a small corporate partnerships team. If you have experience for spotting great funding opportunities in the marketplace and developing strategic partnerships, this role is for you. We need someone who has excellent account management skills and experience of converting leads and meetings to new partnerships. This role includes stewardship of small corporate groups who visit FareShare for volunteer days and some administrative work to keep records and account plans up-to-date.

Seasonal Projects Officer

Location: Deptford, London

About the role: You will project manage major seasonal initiatives to generate more food into the FareShare network to support our Community Food Members. The work is varied and will cover a number of initiatives throughout the year, but in particular will support the delivery of a major annual initiative run with one of our key food retail partners – an in store ‘Food Collection’.

Your role will be to project manage the preparation, organisation, communication and evaluation of the Food Collection for FareShare. This will involve working cross functionally with colleagues within FareShare as well as being the lead contact for this initiative with the retail partner, so good organisational and communication skills are paramount in this role.

In addition to the ‘Food Collection’ you will focusing on supporting and co-ordinating initiatives designed to procure additional food to support seasonal changes in demand from our Community Food Members.

Volunteering Development Officer

Location: Deptford, London

We are looking for someone dynamic and engaging, with excellent communication and volunteer management skills, as well as a commitment to delivering a high quality service in line with our mission and core values. In addition, to working with the FareShare UK Volunteering team you will also work closely with 21 volunteer managers across the FareShare Network. A key area of responsibility will be the delivery of our volunteer engagement programme, which will support our network to ensure all our volunteers feel valued. You will also support the FareShare Volunteering Team to provide a consistent volunteer experience across the FareShare network, which is enjoyable, rewarding and safe for our volunteers.

You should be self-motivated, with experience of working within volunteer management. Additionally, you should have experience of developing engagement communications for volunteers. You should also be able to develop and deliver a range of volunteer engagement activities. Furthermore you should have experience of volunteer recruitment, as part of the role will involve the management of volunteer adverts and enquires on third party websites.

This role is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund for a period of 12 months.

Marketing and Communications Officer

Location: Deptford, London

This role is important in strengthening FareShare’s ability to source the highest quality surplus food that fits the needs of our charity partners, to maintain the healthy relationships we enjoy with our existing food partners, and to open conversations with potential new food providers.

The role has been funded by an external partner for a two year programme, and as such is a two year contract. The programme is intended to support the distribution of more fresh fruit and vegetables to our Charity partners. The nutritional and health benefits of a diet high in fresh fruit and vegetables are well documented, and the focus for the funder of this programme.

Warehouse Coordinator (3 vacancies)

About the role: This role is about so much more than just coordinating the day-to-day operations of a busy FareShare warehouse: it’s about sharing the FareShare mission that “no good food should go to waste”. Your work will make sure that quality surplus food is helping feed people in need.

As a Warehouse Coordinator you will be the face of FareShare, involved in the supervision of a large team of volunteers to ensure our charity members receive their food orders each week. Each shift you will be responsible for ensuring health and safety of the team supporting FareShare, whether they are regular volunteers, supporters from our corporate partners, visitors to the warehouse, or your colleagues. You will also be ensuring your team follows the food safety standards set out in the FareShare operating manual to ensure the safe receipt of food by all our charity members.
