East Midlands

FareShare East Midlands redistributes surplus food to charities and community groups across the East Midlands, providing a lifeline to over 10,000 people living in the community.

Volunteering opportunities are available at both the FareShare Regional Centre in Leicestershire and the hub in Derbyshire. The East Midlands team work with external agencies, such as the Probation Service, Job Centres and Talent Match to provide essential work based experience for those that are struggling to enter employment.

We provide structured training programmes for those wishing to gain more skills ready for work or for those that are looking for something extremely valuable to do with their spare time we provide a safe and enjoyable place to volunteer and make a real difference to so many lives.  Food is a basic human right and all of our volunteers contribute towards our mission of getting good food to as many people in our communities who need it.

Voices from FareShare East Midlands…

FareShare East Midlands, Victoria Centre

“We get a wide range of produce through FareShare, so it gives people the chance to try foods they might not have another opportunity to buy, and gets the children interested in where their food comes from.”
Victoria Centre, supporting the local community in  Wellingborough

FareShare East Midlands, Marlow House

“The food makes a huge impact for us, we couldn’t move forward as a charity without it. The saving we made last year meant we were able to improve the services we already offered, and start the befriending service.”
