FareShare Grampian distributes food to over 100 organisations in the North East of Scotland that are accessed by people experiencing food poverty. It is run by Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE), which was set up in 1997 and has since become a successful social enterprise providing a range of services to thousands of people in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.
“The food we serve helps keep people alive over the winter. Life on the street has a very detrimental effect on people’s mental and physical health and the food we serve is important for countering that. Food is the draw that brings people in to access our other support services.”

On International Women’s Day we celebrate the achievements of key female staff helping to run the FareShare networks. Women are key figures in 10 out of 21 of the FareShare Regional Centres across the UK, managing complicated logistical operations that guarantee the success of our mission.
