It’s the sort that counts

13th July 2015
A mountain of food was donated during the Neighbourhood Food Collection and we need your help to get it sorted. Volunteer for a day as one of our super-sorters at your nearest FareShare warehouse and you’ll play crucial role in helping us get donated food to those who need it.
Where: We currently need volunteers in Hull & Humber, Kent (Ashford), Grampian (Aberdeen), Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Southern Central (Southampton), Yorkshire (Barnsley), and West Midlands
When: August and September
What commitment do I need to make? You can do a half day or a full day
What will I be doing? You’ll be working in teams of six to eight people to sort donated food ready to go out to charities and community groups
It’s also a chance to see how much food was collected during the event and learn more about where it all goes. You’ll be right at the centre of FareShare’s food distribution operations, getting an insight into the work of your local FareShare, as well as making a great, practical contribution to FareShare’s fight against hunger.
Teams of 6-8 people are needed, so it’s a great opportunity to help fight hunger with like-minded people. Teams will be supervised, and FareShare staff will be on hand to answer any questions during the day.
Let’s get this food sorted!
