Longstanding FareShare partner, Kingsmill, has provided loaves and other baked goods to the equivalent of over 1.5 million meals to FareShare during the course of our four year partnership.
“We are delighted to hit this meal milestone with FareShare. Our partnership has now been running for almost five years and we’re grateful to FareShare for giving us the opportunity to provide the equivalent of 1.5 million meals during that time. Supporting the more vulnerable people in our society is extremely important to everyone in our business - so much so that some of our team at our Stockport bakery have given their own time to support FareShare as volunteers. We’re delighted that Kingsmill is helping to keep the nation fed. ”
Nick Law, Joint Managing Director, Kingsmill
Kingsmill first started working with FareShare in 2016 providing surplus bread to vulnerable members of local communities facing food poverty.
Kingsmill partnered its bakeries with local FareShare warehouses to deliver surplus Kingsmill to those most in need.
The partnership has grown from there and, in 2020 alone, Kingsmill provided the food equivalent of over 350,000 meals, reaching 1,897 frontline charities through their work with FareShare.
Lindsay Boswell, CEO, FareShare: “Kingsmill are a great example of a company doing the right thing with their surplus food. Bread is a staple for the charities and community groups that we support and having access to regular and consistent deliveries of bread from Kingsmill supports our community cooks in providing substantial meals.“
