FareShare Kent crowned winners for their work

FareShare Kent win award

20 March 2018

FareShare Kent's partner charity Children and Families was crowned Kent Charity of the Year 2018 last week at a glittering gala dinner.

More than 260 guests from Kent’s charitable sector gathered together at this special community event in Gillingham, where several awards were up for grabs.

Children and Families, a charity that operates across Kent, and provides many services to give children and families the best opportunities in life, fought off strong competition from more than 80 entries to scoop the top prize.

On winning the award Jim Duncan, CEO at Children & Families, said: “At Children & Families we’re absolutely thrilled to have been chosen as the Kent Charity of the Year. With so many other truly outstanding charities represented on the night, it was an honour to receive this award on behalf of the staff and volunteers who do our important work.”

Craig Brown, Operations Manager at FareShare Kent, added: “We work with Children and Families to redistribute over 700,000 meals to vulnerable people in the community, so to win Kent Charity of the Year is true testament and recognition to all our volunteers and colleagues across the group. Without them none of our work would be possible.”
