FareShare teams up with Farm Shop & Deli Show 2017

18 April 2017

FareShare has joined forces with the Farm Shop & Deli Show, taking place on the 24 - 26 April at the NEC in Birmingham, to ensure that any surplus food and drink left over from the exhibition is used to feed people in need.

FareShare West Midlands will collect all food and drink items that exhibitors have left at the end of the three-day trade show, which encompasses the Farm Shop & Deli Show, National Convenience Show & The Forecourt Show. Rather than going to waste, this food will be redistributed to local charities to provide nutritious, healthy meals for vulnerable people.

At Farm Shop & Deli Show visitors can experience the best quality local and regional produce from more than 450 outstanding suppliers over three days. The show will be packed with new launches, fresh industry insights and trend-setting food and drink. The extensive live events programme, hosted by author, chef and Love Food Hate Waste Ambassador Richard Fox, will cover a range of masterclasses, live tastings and panel debates including ‘Reduce Waste, Boost Profits’ featuring an expert panel spanning the retail, energy and food waste charity sectors.

Mark Varney, Director of Food at FareShare says: “FareShare are delighted to work with the Farm Shop & Deli Show 2017. Our aim is to ensure that no food fit for human consumption goes to waste and so having the opportunity to make best use of all the excellent quality food and drink left at the end of the show, both makes environmental sense, and will directly benefit people in need. We are always on the lookout for more food and drink businesses to work with us to use their surplus food for social good, and so we are hoping that our presence at the event will encourage more companies to do just that.”

Dan Dixon from Farm Shop & Deli Show added: “From 24 – 26 April the NEC will be playing host to what is arguably the most exciting business event of 2017. We have gathered an amazing range of suppliers, across all 3 co-located shows, to help visitors find insights & inspiration to support and boost their business. We are thankful that our continuing relationship with FareShare enables us, and our exhibitors, to support the valuable, hard work they do.”
