2017CTAwards-winner2017 Charity of the year winners

We're thrilled to announce FareShare has won Charity of the Year at the Charity Times Awards.

“Thank you so much to all of our food partners, funders, staff and volunteers for making this possible!”

The winners were announced on Wednesday by comedian Shappi Khorsandi at a glittering awards ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.

Even more excitingly, this isn’t the first award we’ve won in 2017. In September we won The Third Sector Charity of the Year Award, and, in July, we picked up Charity of the Year in the Environment and Conservation category at the Charity Awards. FareShare also won the Experian Award for Building Stronger Communities at the Business In the Community Annual Awards, for its work with Tesco on FareShare FoodCloud – an app that connects stores to local charities who then pick up the surplus food.

FareShare CEO, Lindsay Boswell, said: “We’re over the moon to have won such a prestigious award, particularly given the very high calibre of charities in the of £1 million - £5 million category. It’s a huge honour and we’re so grateful to our amazing staff, volunteers and supporters who work so hard to stop good food from going to waste -- diverting it to the thousands of charities who rely on it to feed vulnerable people. We must also thank our incredible delivery partners on the ground, who play such a key role in their communities. Together, we really prove than FareShare is far greater than the sum of its parts.”
