FareShare’s first annual Volunteering Awards

26 September 2019

On 12 September FareShare held its first ever Volunteer Awards, celebrating the 1,300 volunteers across our UK network of Regional Centres who collect, sort, pack and deliver food to charities and community groups. Sponsored by Asda, the lunchtime event was held at Birmingham's prestigious Hyatt Regency Hotel.

“The judges were overwhelmed with the high quality of the entries, from almost every one of FareShare’s Regional Centres. But without a doubt all our winners stood out for their exceptional contributions, as well as their tireless energy and passion for fighting food waste.

“Thanks to our volunteers we’re able to get huge volumes of surplus food to frontline charities. Events like this one give us the chance to take the time to celebrate the people who make it happen.”
