Keiran joined FareShare Sussex as a volunteer nearly a year ago, and is now a well-known face in the warehouse. Previously, Keiran had been homeless and he first heard about FareShare when he was staying at a hostel that received food from FareShare.
Keiran loves spending time with his fellow volunteers, and gets a great sense of satisfaction from “giving back to projects I used when I was in need”.
He says: “I like hearing lots of unusual stories about people’s life experiences. It gives me joy seeing people’s faces when we deliver the food."
Since joining FareShare, Keiran’s completed a forklift truck qualification, and has also found a part-time job at one of the charities FareShare supplies – a local community centre that caters for the over 50s.
“It’s a proper lifeline for some people,” Keiran says. “Whatever I do in the future, I want to carry on helping FareShare.”
