We are proud to share that January 2018 is our biggest month on record, with the highest amount of surplus food received from the food industry into our network of 21 Regional Centres across the UK.

“We have seen an incredible 47% increase in the volume of food donated to FareShare this January, compared to the same time the year before. That’s 1,120 tonnes of perfectly good food that would otherwise go to waste being diverted to FareShare last month alone.”

We have seen an incredible 47% increase in the volume of food donated to FareShare this January, compared to the same time the year before.

That’s 1,120 tonnes of perfectly good food that would otherwise go to waste being diverted to FareShare last month alone. Enough food for 2.6 million meals for people in need.

We’ve also seen a significant increase in how much nutritious food was provided across our key food categories. Over the past six months, volumes of meat has increased by 25%, dairy products has increased by 10% and produce by 6%.

This goes a long way to ensuring FareShare is able to provide our charity members with all the ingredients they need to make healthy, wholesome meals for the vulnerable people they support.

Special thanks to our food partners who have contributed significantly to our results this month.
