McDonald’s announces Christmas campaign in support of FareShare

12 November 2021

The McDonald’s Christmas advert for 2021 ‘Imaginary Iggy’ will premiere on Friday (12th November) during Channel 4’s Gogglebox in a takeover of the full 90 second advertisement break.

“We’re proud once again to be supporting our charity partner, FareShare through our Christmas campaign, helping those in the greatest need.”

Michelle Graham-Clare, Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald's

The advert kickstarts McDonald’s #ReindeerReady campaign which includes a new Festive Menu and fun, family activities which will be released over the coming weeks.

Set to a spine-tingling rendition of ‘Time After Time’ by singing sensation Mabel, viewers will follow Matilda’s journey from a whimsical child bonding over Christmas rituals with her imaginary friend Iggy, to her growing up and leaving him behind in her childhood; until a moment of Christmas joy helps to spark her memory.

Underpinning the campaign, McDonald’s is donating funding to enable FareShare to redistribute five million meals to families most in need this Christmas.

You can help too, just text 4MEALS to 70490 to donate £1 to FareShare and help provide the equivalent of four meals to families in need this Christmas.*
