#feedpeoplefirst campaign video by Quentin Clark
Thanks to your amazing support we've reached over 5,500 signatures on our #feedpeoplefirst petition in two short weeks.
That's an incredible result and we are so grateful to everyone who signed, shared, told their friends, colleagues and networks. We're now over halfway to the goal of 10,000 signatures that would guarantee a response to the petition from the Government.
With three weeks to go, we need as many people as possible to sign and share: we need at least 10,000 signatures to guarantee a response from the Government.
To help us spread the word please support our Thunderclap. It's like a digital 'flashmob' and means that at an appointed time a joint campaign message is sent from everyone who has signed up. It's quick and easy to do and will really help us get our message out there with maximum impact.
Our petition has received some amazing support, including from eco-chef Tom Hunt and journalist and food writer Jay Rayner.
If we reach 10,000 signatures, the Government will respond to the petition. If we get 100,000, it will be debated in the Parliament. Every signature counts, so please share the petition with your friends, family, colleagues, networks.
Here's a sample Twitter post, feel free to copy and share:
.@FareShareUK helps charities feed half a million people a week by redistributing just 5% of UK's available #surplusfood. Just imagine what we could do with 100,000 tonnes. Help us persuade Government to #FeedPeopleFirst and sign the petition at feedpeoplefirst.org
Deadline is 3 May 2018
