Fundraisers at FactSet have raised more than £7,000 for FareShare in just one week -- as part of the company’s global drive to tackle food poverty.

FareShare is the UK’s largest food redistribution charity, taking surplus food from the food industry and redistributing it to vulnerable people through its UK-wide network of 10,000 charities.

During FactSet’s Hunger Awareness Week in November, FactSet employees gave up their free staff lunch in favour of a voluntary donation to FareShare. They also held a ‘Cook Off’ – bringing in food to share with colleagues in return for a donation for FareShare. The money raised will help FareShare create 28,000 meals for those in need.

But FactSet’s efforts don’t stop at fundraising. FactSetters will be rolling up their sleeves for the next year to pack and sort surplus food at FareShare’s depot in Deptford, and deliver food to local charities.

Nichola Wilson, Corporate Partnerships Manager at FareShare, said: “Not only have FactSet staff gone the extra mile with their fundraising, they’ve also given up their time as volunteers. We’re so grateful for their continued support.”

Hannah Zucker, CSR manager for FactSet EMEA & APAC, said: “We are delighted to partner with FareShare as part of our global work to alleviate food insecurity. Our team in the UK have had a lot of fun taking part in the Cook Off fundraiser and volunteering their time to help ensure that people in the community have access to nutritious food.”
