Celebrating British Pie Week

6 March 2019

We’re a nation of pie lovers and British Pie Week is the perfect excuse to tuck into some puffed pastry cuisine.

Pies are a British staple. Whether they’re home baked (using fresh ingredients from FareShare) or direct from our food partners, pies are being are served alongside life changing support services in community centres, lunch clubs and charities up and down the country.

Addo Food Group which, last year, provided over 30,000 meals for people in need, have been supplying FareShare with their surplus pork pies since 2016.

“We’ve been working with FareShare for nearly three years, and are really proud of the work they do to all across the UK providing support to the vulnerable,” said Samantha Hart, Head of HR at Addo Food Group.

We here at Addo love our pies and, in our partnership with FareShare, their work to distribute surplus food helps to provide hundreds of thousands of meals each week for those facing hunger in our communities.

We like to feel that rather than any of our surplus food going to waste that we’re helping to provide those in need with some hearty meals.”

Thank you Addo Food Group, and Happy British Pie Week!

“We here at Addo love our pies and in our partnership with FareShare, their work to distribute surplus food from ourselves helps to provide hundreds of thousands of meals each week for those facing hunger in our communities”
