FareShare Chief Executive gallops into top 10 in Resource Hot 100 list

15 March 2018

Lindsay Boswell, FareShare CEO, ranked 7 in Resource Hot 100 list

Resource magazine has ranked FareShare UK Chief Executive Lindsay Boswell as the 7th most influential person in the waste and resources industry for 2018, a massive jump up from 41st in 2017.

The magazine asked members of the waste and resource industry to nominate and vote for people to go on the annual power list of movers and shakers, and this year it attracted a record number of votes. Resource magazine said 2017 was a big year for waste and resources: “The unprecedented number of votes we received this year is testament to the growing concern and focus on resource issues.”

It’s certainly true for FareShare, which had an incredible 47% increase in the volume of food donated this January, compared to the same time the year before. That’s 1,120 tonnes of perfectly good food that would otherwise go to waste being diverted to FareShare last month alone – providing enough food for 2.6 million meals for people in need.

A voter said about Lindsay: “He’s the food industry’s conscience and will never stop until all food surplus is used to feel people first.”

Lindsay said; “I’m really honoured to be rubbing shoulders in the Resource list with inspirational people such as Sir David Attenborough and this year’s number 1, Mike Webster from WasteAid UK. The fact that FareShare has just experienced its biggest month ever – in 20 years – for food into our network, shows that food waste is really becoming top of mind for the public.”
