We’re delighted to announce FareShare has won Charity of the Year at The Third Sector Awards.

FaereShare winners at Third Sector Awards 2017The ceremony, held at London’s Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, aims to recognise those who give back to the community and celebrate organisations and social leaders from across the sector.

Speaking after the event, FareShare CEO Lindsay Boswell, said: “I’m delighted that the wonderful work of FareShare’s staff and volunteers has been recognised, with FareShare being voted the overall winner at last night’s Third Sector Awards. It’s an amazing achievement – especially given the fact there’s 180,000 charities in the UK and the five shortlisted charities were of such a high calibre.

“As well as being a testament to the efforts of the staff and volunteer team, the award demonstrates just how big a part surplus food has to play in supporting the charities and community groups who provide frontline services to the most vulnerable. The number of people who benefit from food redistributed by FareShare is quite staggering. Right now, we feed over half a million people every week. We’re confident that we can double that – and winning the charity sector’s biggest award shows the sky really is the limit. Thank you so much to all of our food partners, funders, staff and volunteers for making this possible!”
