Last summer, using food from FareShare Greater Manchester, housing provider One Manchester helped create just under 3,000 packed lunches for local children attending holiday clubs and Sure Start Children’s Centres.

Beaver Community Trust which is based in The Willow Centre provides early years care and education to low income children and families in Ashford, Kent. In comparison to other areas in the county, Ashford has experienced the sharpest increase in poverty in recent years, with some areas in the town ranked among the 7% most deprived in Kent.

House of Bread was launched ten years ago to provide home-cooked meals for homeless and vulnerable people in Stafford, and in the decade since has expanded to run a food bank as well – increasingly to families and single parents. Will says that, in his experience, food insecurity in Stafford is rising – with the number of parcels handed out having risen threefold since January.

St Matthews Children’s Action Group receives regular deliveries of healthy snacks and food from FareShare East Midlands over the summer. It’s part of a network of nine free, open access holiday play projects across the city of Leicester which, last year, served up a total of 32,000 meals.

KPC Youth is a charitable organisation in Bridgend working with children, young people and their families. The charity receives regular food deliveries from FareShare Wales for its community café where they serve a range of healthy snacks and meals for those accessing their services.
