We continue a full national operation to get food to vulnerable people during the Covid-19 crisis.

PepsiCo provided equivalent of 2 million meals to FareShare to help feed people at risk of hunger

24 February 2021

PepsiCo first partnered with FareShare in 2018 and in the two years since has provided FareShare’s charity network with a variety of surplus food, ranging from Quaker Porridge to Tropicana juice. Working with PepsiCo, FareShare has distributed over 800 tonnes of surplus food, which would have otherwise gone to waste, onto frontline charities across the UK.

“We’re so proud of our work with FareShare to fight hunger and tackle food waste. They’ve helped us unlock our ambition to provide food to those in need right across the UK – especially during the pandemic. Hitting the two million meals milestone feels like just the beginning of what can achieve together.”

Alongside surplus food donations, PepsiCo also donated £180,000 throughout 2020 – which will help fund the distribution of meals to vulnerable people. FareShare is grateful to PepsiCo for its commitment to helping FareShare fight hunger and food waste, especially during this tough year. What’s more, since reaching its 2 million meals milestone, PepsiCo has also launched a partnership with Deliveroo to help provide FareShare with further variety of stock.

Joanna Dyson, Head of Food at FareShare, said: “A huge thank you to our food partner PepsiCo for helping to provide enough surplus food for 2 million meals. By ensuring its surplus food feeds people first, PepsiCo is reducing its impact on the environment whilst also helping make a real difference for the community groups and charities we supply. We look forward to building on our partnership with PepsiCo, to ensure its surplus food gets to those who need it most.”

Thank you PepsiCo, you are true #foodheroes.
