Sainsbury’s ‘Help Brighten a Million Christmases’ campaign, which ran from 1 to 14 December this year, invited customers to donate food, money or Nectar points, with every donation being matched by the supermarket penny for penny*. Sainsbury’s worked with over 800 local food donation partners, Comic Relief and FareShare and raised over £5.97M to support its local communities.

The money raised will help us to continue to get food out to our network of 11,000 charities and community groups.

Since the pandemic, FareShare has more than doubled its work, providing the equivalent of more than 2 million meals a week to people facing food poverty.
