Keeping our Volunteers Safe During Coronavirus
The health, safety and wellbeing of our volunteers is very important to us, and we’re always working to keep our people safe.
In line with government measures on the emergence of the Omicron Coronavirus variant, we strongly recommend that those wishing to volunteer, who are in higher risk groups consider the following:
Speaking to a health professional to see if volunteering is safe
Whether or not they are fully vaccinated
Whether or not they’d be volunteering with others who are fully vaccinated
Taking regular rapid flow tests
Maintaining social distancing/shielding measures
If you feel that volunteering at this time, isn’t right for you, you can support us by signing up to our newsletter and spreading the word about the work we do online through your social networks.
If you do decide to start/continue your volunteering journey with us, we ask that you please stay home if any of the following is true:
You are experiencing common Covid-19 symptoms such as a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.
You live with someone who is experiencing those symptoms
You have been in close contact with someone with confirmed coronavirus in the last 10 days
If you are waiting for a COVID-19 test result If you have returned from abroad in the last 10 days, please view the ‘Return to the UK’ and ‘Foreign Travel Advice’ guidance pages to decide whether it would be safe for you to volunteer.
