It takes a couple of minutes to answer these five quick questions so we can match you with roles in your area
Please note that some of our sites are currently operating a waiting list for all roles that involve coming into one of our centres. Once there is space, you will be contacted by your local volunteer manager about your application.
Please note – this quiz is not an application but a quiz to find the right role for you, and available roles in your area.
In light of the most recent restrictions, FareShare has made the decision, together with their partner Tesco, not to put volunteers in store for this years’ annual Food Collection. Volunteers have always been at the heart of every Food Collection so this is very disappointing. However, you can still help out online by using our Virtual Volunteer pack to spread the word!
We strongly recommend that any volunteers in higher risk groups do not apply to volunteer with us at this time (i.e. those aged 70 years and above, those with underlying health conditions, pregnant women, and those with a weakened immune system). While we welcome your support, we would not want you to increase your level of risk by coming into contact with more people. You can continue to support us by spreading the word about the work we do online through your social networks.
In addition to this, in line with government advice we ask that you don’t come and volunteer for FareShare if any of the following is true:
We also have a number of steps in place to help us remain in operation whilst reducing the risk to our staff and volunteers. To keep our volunteers safe and reduce transmission of any viruses we advise all our volunteers to do the following:
We also have in place:
The three-tier approach restrictions are being categorised into medium, high and very high depending on the infection rate of the virus across areas of the UK. You can find a list of the areas effected, plus the details of the tiered system. The majority of restriction being introduced are for our personal lives and revolve around the social aspect of this. Travelling to volunteer, or for work, is acceptable.
Please look out for any differences in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
