Christmas food collection

The Christmas Food Collection 2017 is now over!

Thank you so much to each and every volunteer, member of store staff and customer who donated to help make this Christmas Food Collection an amazing one.

Our 10th Food Collection held in partnership with Tesco saw over 1,500 merry Food Collection volunteers collect millions of meals for people in need. Volunteers collected on average 600 meals every 3 hours – what an achievement!

We asked for donations of long-life food – such as tea, pasta, tins of tomatoes – to supplement the fresh food we deliver to over 7,000 charities and community groups across the country. It allows those groups we support to provide a nutritional and well-balanced meal to vulnerable people.

What’s more, Tesco pay a 20% financial top-up on all the food that is donated, so that your donation goes even further to help feed people in need.

Watch this space for future food drives and if you have any questions please get in touch with the Food Collection team:

“Loved my first time volunteering at Tesco for the Food Collection…People were so generous…”

Wow, you donated 3.7 million meals for people in need at our recent Neighbourhood Food Collection. This means the total of meals donated to people in need since The Neighbourhood Food Collection began in December 2012 is now over 30 million.
