The food we redistribute reaches 8,500 frontline charities and community groups across the UK, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. Every week we provide enough food to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people.
We know surplus can be put to good use! In 2022-23, 91% of the food we provided was surplus that otherwise would have gone to waste. For every tonne of surplus food FareShare redistributes, it prevents the waste of 2 tonnes of CO2e and 2.66 million litres of water! Another reason to smile!
