Congratulations to all our award winners, and a huge thank you to each and every volunteer for your support and dedication to getting food to people in need.
FareShare UK is delighted to share that our third UK wide Volunteer Awards took place on 28 September 2022, celebrating our valued volunteers across the FareShare network, and recognising exceptional volunteer contributions.
It was a joy to have more than 500 people across the FareShare network join each other in a hybrid event, the first of its kind for FareShare. Each regional centre held a local event and then virtually joined each other for the awards ceremony hosted from FareShare UK in London.
Each regional centre hosted a spectacular celebration for their volunteers – with many sites decking out their lunch rooms, ordering in delicious food and watching the awards on projectors. Some sites even hired venues, with FareShare East Anglia hiring an amazing space, a nearby orangery, which really put on a show for the volunteers. FareShare North East hired an entire café, and FareShare South West hired an event space and a fabulous chef who normally caters on film sets for the likes of Angelia Jolie and Robert Downy Jr! FareShare Northern Ireland made the most of everyone being together by going bowling after the awards.
The highlight of the day for many was hearing inspiring volunteer stories, meeting volunteers from different days, seeing other centres and feeling part of the wider FareShare network. But most of all, it was a chance for some people to reflect on how far they’d come since they began volunteering, and share in each other's celebrations.
Congratulations again to all our Award winners, and thank you to all our volunteers for your hard work, innovation, and care that you continue to give to FareShare and the people we support.
