During the panel, Lindsay Boswell underlined the importance of charitable food redistribution. 1 in 8 people go hungry in the UK, yet perfectly good food is wasted every day in food production. We are asking people to sign a petition to tell the Government to get food to those in need. If we reach 10,000 signatures, the Government will respond to the petition. If we get 100,000, it will be debated in the Parliament. Every signature counts, so please share the petition with your friends, family, colleagues, networks.
Here's a sample Twitter post, feel free to copy and share:
.@FareShareUK helps charities feed half a million people a week by redistributing just 5% of UK's available #surplusfood. Just imagine what we could do with 100,000 tonnes. Help us persuade Government to #FeedPeopleFirst and sign the petition at feedpeoplefirst.org
Deadline is 3 May 2018
