7 June 2017
From 1 to 7 June we’ve been celebrating and saying a great big Thank You to all our fantastic FareShare volunteers.
Across our network of 20 Regional Centres hundreds of volunteers are helping to tackle food waste and fight hunger. Volunteers help us;
Without volunteers, we couldn't save over 13,000 tonnes of food from waste a year, we couldn't provide ingredients to 6,723 charities and we couldn't feed 484,376 people every week. In our eyes, FareShare volunteers are all Food Heroes!
At FareShare London the volunteer team hosted a series of ‘learning lunches’ where volunteers and FareShare’s national teams, such as fundraising or finance (below), could get together to learn more about each other’s work.
Both FareShare Greater Manchester and FareShare Southern Central hosted a delicious BBQ for all volunteers to enjoy.
Our friends at GoodGym (below) and Team London organised an enthusiastic bunch of volunteers to help out in the warehouse. They ran 3km to our London warehouse, helped out and then ran another 3km back!
And all this week we’ve welcomed corporate volunteers too. Employees from M&S (below), Morgan Stanley, Sodexo and more have had a day out the office and in a hi-vis!
We’re always keen to welcome new volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, gain new skills and make a difference.
