Sweepstake information and guidance
Sweepstake competitions can be a fun way to bring your colleagues, friends and family together and raise money for FareShare.
Before you start, there are some basic rules and guidelines you will need to follow if you plan to run your sweepstake and fundraise below.
- The entry price to participate in the sweepstake must be the same for all participants.
- The person organising the sweepstake and participating individuals must all be over 16.
- You need to decide before running your competition if the entry money will be split between the winner and the Charity (FareShare) or if you will have a separate prize with all entry fees going to the Charity. Whichever approach you take, participants must be informed before they enter, and you, as the organiser, cannot make a profit from the sweepstake – the raised funds will need to be donated.
- If running your sweepstake at work, participants in your office sweepstake must all be employed to work from the same location.
- If running your sweepstake at home, participants in your sweepstake must all live on the same premises as the organiser.
- You are only permitted to promote the sweepstake on the premises where it is taking place.
- You are not permitted to and must not sell entry on the street or from house to house.
