Over 1,000 charities back FareShare’s call for Prime Minister to fund surplus food redistribution

Over 1,000 charities across the UK have signed an open letter penned by FareShare calling on the Prime Minister to divert much-needed funds to surplus food redistribution.

Recent polling by FareShare found that 88% of the public believe surplus food should be donated to people and charities, and 78% think the Government should do more to help charities access surplus food.

The amount of food wasted in the UK food industry per year is enough to feed every single person in the UK 3 meals a day, plus a snack, for a month.
