What’s for dinner?

Can you give £72 to feed four children three healthy meals a day for the next month?

No child should have to go without lunch. Or worry that there will be nothing to eat for dinner. Yet this is the heart-breaking reality for 4 million children in the UK, who are growing up in homes where there’s not always enough money for food.

Leah Darby, who runs The One Love Project in Southend-on-Sea, one of the 8,500 charities and community groups that FareShare supports, explains:

“Families are having to choose whether they should put food on the table or heat the house. Unfortunately, a lot of what we’re seeing is a decision having to be made around two essential supplies of living – they’re having to make a choice between food or heat because they can’t afford to have both.”

But your gift can help them today.

£72, or anything you can afford, will help to redistribute a month’s worth of meals for four children in need.

  • £72.00 could help to redistribute enough food to provide four children with three good meals a day for a whole month.
  • £50.40 could help to redistribute enough food to provide four children with three good meals a day for three whole weeks.
  • £432 could help to redistribute enough food to provide four children with three good meals a day for six whole months.
  • Or a regular gift of £25 a month, could help to provide enough meals for 125 meals on a regular basis.
