We continue a full national operation to get food to vulnerable people during the Covid-19 crisis.

Buy One to Help a Child

Support children at risk of going hungry this summer by purchasing fruit & veg at Tesco

There are currently 2.3 million children in the UK live in households that have experienced food insecurity in the last six months1. This situation worsened as a result of the pandemic, where many families didn’t have the safety net of free school meals to help feed their children and left many worrying how they were going to get through these incredibly tough times.

Through Tesco’s Buy One to Help a Child campaign, Tesco will make a food donation to FareShare for every piece of fresh fruit and veg bought in all of its stores and online, between now and 8 August.

The Buy One to Help a Child campaign will make a huge difference to the thousands of families who are struggling at the moment to put food on the table.”

FareShare ambassador, Marcus Rashford MBE

The three-week campaign aims to provide an additional donation equating to three million meals to FareShare, which will then be redistributed by us to a network of charities and local community groups supporting children in need across the UK.

To support the campaign, simply purchase fruit and veg in store or online between now and 8 August 2021.
