We are excited to announce that the world’s best-known soft drinks brand, Coca-Cola has launched a Christmas campaign that will raise awareness of FareShare’s work with millions of people across the UK, while raising vital funds to help feed people in need.
From today until 31 December, FareShare’s logo will feature on 30 million promotional 500ml bottles of Coca-Cola Classic, Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Zero and Coca-Cola Life, and 1.25l bottles of Coca-Cola Classic, Diet Coke and Coke Zero, stocked by major high street retailers and convenience stores over the festive period.
Shoppers can ‘Donate a Meal to Someone in Need‘ simply by buying a promotional bottle, taking a photo of the FareShare logo on the bottle’s label and uploading it to a promotional website. Coca-Cola will then donate 25p to FareShare for every image successfully uploaded – enabling us to redistribute enough food for a frontline charity, such as a homeless shelter or older people’s lunch club, to serve up a meal for someone in need.
Coca-Cola has been working in partnership with FareShare since 2014 to redistribute surplus drinks that can’t be sold because of issues such as damaged packaging or mislabelling, including waters and juices, to charities across the UK.
Lindsay Boswell, FareShare CEO, said: “This on-pack campaign is an exciting development to our partnership with Coca-Cola, that will not only raise awareness of FareShare and the lifeline we provide to charities working with hungry and vulnerable people, but will also raise vital funds to support our operation, helping us to redistribute more good food, to more people in need.”
Visitors to Coca-Cola’s annual Christmas Truck Tour, which will visit 30 locations around Great Britain, will also be able to donate warm clothing and food to charities around the UK.
Caroline Cater, operational marketing director GB at Coca-Cola European Partners, added: “Coca-Cola is synonymous with Christmas, and this year’s festive campaign offers a blend of exciting experiences to bring the season to life, together with opportunities to provide meals and clothing to people in need, reinforcing the spirit of Christmas as the season of giving.”
