Fuller Lives

Change someone’s life for the better

More than 4 million tonnes of good food are wasted every year across the UK. Meanwhile, 11 million people are worried about where their next meal comes from. FareShare’s staff and volunteers are working tirelessly to solve this crisis by distributing four meals every second, but the demand is growing. Your donation ensures that children, young people and families in your community can enjoy nutritious meals, connect, and lead fuller lives.

Food equals fuller lives
A donation does more than tackle hunger. Your £20 donation will help redistribute the equivalent of 100 nutritious meals to frontline charities and community groups — so people facing food insecurity have the fuel to live fuller lives.

That’s 100 opportunities to fuel a fuller life this summer. You’ll be helping parents who would have to skip meals to feed their children, and ensuring no child starts the new school year hungry.

Many young people miss out on summer experiences because they lack access to nutritious food. Your donation to FareShare enables us to redistribute surplus food so young people in your community can connect and socialise.

Food insecurity often leads to loneliness. With your help, we can create more opportunities for social interaction this summer by sending surplus food to thousands of frontline charities and community groups. 86% of the charities we work with report that their service users feel more connected with their community.

“Knowing there is food in the cupboard, not going hungry, self-esteem, having a choice of food gives greater respect instead of having no choice.”

We believe that no good food should go to waste. That’s why we redistribute surplus food, which is unsold or unwanted by the food industry, to over 8,000 charities and community organisations that use it to feed people going hungry. Once collected, we distribute food to frontline charities through our network of partners, which now spans the whole of the UK. Having experienced over a decade of significant growth, we’re now the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste.
