2018 saw the launch of the landmark Fight Hunger Create Change project; a three-year partnership between Asda, FareShare and The Trussell Trust which aims to support people in food poverty.
Funding from Asda has enabled us to invest in and expand our infrastructure across our 21 Regional Centres and — thanks to Asda’s support — this year has seen the installation of eight new and bigger chillers, two warehouse relocations, new vans and the successful opening of a brand new depot in Leicestershire!
Fight Hunger Create Change is kickstarting a new scheme with The Trussell Trust, helping FareShare to provide fruit and vegetables to 400 of their foodbanks across the UK. The project is already operating in Birmingham, Coventry and Leicestershire with plans to reach more foodbanks in 2019 and beyond.
So we'd like to say a great big festive thank you to Asda for supporting us, and making a long term commitment to tackling food poverty in the UK.
