Leading citrus brand Jaffa has launched Winter Warmers, a campaign to raise awareness of the continued support needed to help vulnerable people during the winter months.
Through their partnership with FareShare, Jaffa has helped to distribute the equivalent of 200,000 meals to charities across the UK, creating a much-needed boost to people facing hardship, especially within the current economic environment.
This month Jaffa visited Church of the Apostles and St Cuthbert’s in Manchester to see first-hand what their support means to the network of 11,000 charities supported by FareShare.
Lindsay Boswell, CEO at FareShare, said: “90% of the charities we serve have told us that this winter they expect to see demand remaining as high as it was at the height of the pandemic as winter starts to bite. With vulnerable communities suffering most from the increases in the cost of living, and the pressures on incomes, we are hugely grateful for the support of our corporate partners at this time when many millions of people and families need more help.”
Rachel Hancox, Jaffa representative, remarked: “Here at Jaffa, we know the importance of having access to healthy foods, as well as the challenges faced in the fresh supply chain which can lead to surplus food.
We have been aware of FareShare’s amazing work in food redistribution for a while and are delighted to be helping support their mission to tackle food waste and fight hunger in the UK.
Through our involvement, we hope to help them grow further, leading to less food being wasted, and in turn, provide more nutritious food to those in need".
