Now in partnership with Crockpot®

Why are communities struggling to eat affordably every day?

Levels of food insecurity in Britain are among the highest in Europe.  This means up to 10 million people, including 2 million children, are skipping meals, and struggling to get enough food.   The pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis have dramatically increased the number of people in food insecurity and debt. Here’s how Crockpot wants to help hungry families by partnering with FareShare.

Crockpot® slow cookers and pressure cookers are used in many kitchens worldwide to serve affordable and delicious meals. They were motivated by the opportunity to help fight the growing and disheartening pressure that hungry families are currently facing.

Crockpot® believes that everyone in the UK should be able to enjoy delicious, healthy meals together, regardless of their budget. In 2021 Crockpot® collaborated with FareShare to help redistribute the equivalent of 200,000 meals to families in need across the UK. This year, we predict there will be even more households struggling to put quality food on the table. That’s why Crockpot® is renewing its commitment by encouraging people to help the brand reach its goal of helping to fund the equivalent of an additional 250,000 meals in 2022, with a total pledge of 450,000 meals to date.

To spread further awareness of this critical initiative, Crockpot® is also collaborating with British chef and mother Andi Oliver to lend her powerful voice to the campaign.

Andi Oliver, British chef and Crockpot® partner, said: “The Meals for More campaign is a project close to my heart and personal experience. I brought my daughter up as a broke single parent, and I know what it is like to struggle to get something onto the table for those you love. I learnt very early on that a tasty plate of food does not have to cost the earth, and it can make all the difference at difficult times when you can bring the family - whatever shape that family may take - to the table and share something with them that you have made with love in your heart. I hope that these recipes can help people do just that.”

This year, Crockpot® is giving everyone the chance to donate meals to families in need via Andi Oliver’s (@AndiOliver) and Crockpot’s® (@CrockpotUK) Instagram channels.
