We continue a full national operation to get food to vulnerable people during the Covid-19 crisis.

Premier Foods supports FareShare during Food Waste Action Week

24 March 2021

Thank you to Premier Foods which participated in a programme of activities supporting WRAP's #FoodWasteActionWeek initiative and supplied FareShare with 26 pallets of surplus food to mark the occasion.

“At Premier Foods, we are working hard to monitor, report and reduce our food surplus. FareShare is an ideal partner to help us achieve this goal, finding the adequate solutions to ensure our food reaches the most vulnerable in society. During Food Waste Action Week our sites rose to the challenge and collected 10 tonnes of food in just a few days to support the amazing work of FareShare, bringing our total surplus donations to 242.9 tonnes in a year.”

Paul Dobson, Director of Quality, Health & Safety and Environment

Food collections took place across all ten Premier Foods manufacturing sites and included a mix of ambient surplus and products that employees had provided from their store cupboards at home.

4,500 employees were invited to take part in the food drive for FareShare and the generous staff provided eight pallets alone.

Premier Foods has been a partner of FareShare for many years but significantly ramped up surplus provision in May 2020, providing over 500,000 meals in 2020.

Thank you Premier Foods, you are #foodheroes.
