Neighbourhood Food Collection 30 June-2 July 2016

We want to say a great big THANK YOU to everyone who gave generously to the Neighbourhood Food Collection last week. Your support will make a big difference to people facing poverty and hunger this summer. A special thank you to our fantastic volunteers who collected donations and to all the Tesco staff who hosted collections in their stores – we really couldn’t do it without you!

Watch our thank you film from the charities you have helped

Over the coming days, we’ll be counting up all the tins and packets and will let you know how many meals your donations have provided, but until then – some of the charities that you’ve helped would like to say THANK YOU…


The food donated at the Neighbourhood Food Collection will go to homeless hostels, domestic violence refuges, older people’s lunch clubs, children’s breakfast clubs and charities and community working with vulnerable people.

It will be combined with the fresh surplus food, such as meat and vegetables, that we receive from the food industry. Most of this surplus is fresh so we need those long-life items you donate to make a nutritiously balanced meal for someone.
