In 2017 we saved 13,552 tonnes of food from waste and helped feed nearly half a million people a week. We also won five major awards - so join us in a toast to all our amazing volunteers and supporters.
This has been an awards busting year, the best FareShare has ever had. We’ve won so many awards we have to break out the bullet points here:
Third Sector Excellence – Charity of the Year
The Charity Awards – Charity of the Year (Environment & Conservation category)
Charity Times – Charity of the Year
In partnership with Tesco: Business In The Community - The Experian Building Stronger Communities Award
In partnership with Tesco: Grocer Gold – Waste Not Want Not Award

FareShare Go is now up and running at every single Tesco in the UK and some Waitrose shops too. That means charities which are signed up to our system will get a text listing the available surplus food which they can pick up for free.
If you are from a charity, sign up here to receive unsold food near you.

We have been around for 23 years but only just got our 21st Centre. To us, that is worth celebrating as a coming of age.
Step forward East Anglia, which is already delivering good quality surplus food to hundreds of charities right across the region to feed people in need.

We partnered with youth charity StreetGames this summer to provide food for projects that give disadvantaged children a lunch and a chance to play sports.
HRH Prince Harry served up food provided by FareShare at the launch.
Wonder if he and Meghan will let us send food for the wedding too?

Our partnership with Fowler Welch, a leading logistics provider for the UK food industry, has not only provided meals, but also made a number of companies aware of the work we do, and encouraged them to get involved.
This year, Fowler Welch has named FareShare their Charity of the Year too, and branded one of their lorries with the FareShare logo.

In July, we hit the streets of London for the annual Pride parade. FareShare works with many organisations who support LGBT+ communities, from youth groups and advice services to homeless shelters. For a nutritious diet, you need to eat food of many different colours, so we went dressed as a rainbow of fruit and veg...

FareShare is delighted to have been selected as one of this year’s three charity recipients of The Daily Telegraph’s 2017 Christmas Charity Appeal.
By showcasing some of the people benefitting from FareShare food, and highlighting our army of volunteers, the Telegraph Christmas Charity Appeal is giving us a golden opportunity to show its readers how their support really helps people in need.
