The importance of charity food redistribution

FareShare video, charity food redistribution

A group of food companies who supply food to Tesco, spent the day with FareShare East Midlands to see charity food redistribution in action and learn how they can get involved.

Simone Connolly, who runs FareShare’s East Midlands Regional Centre explains why providing surplus food to FareShare is so important and how food companies can work with us to put the food they can’t sell as intended to good use.

“Donating surplus food is absolutely the right thing to do. When you get to meet these groups who are supporting their communities and you get to see the difference it is making to their lives, to the beneficiaries lives but also to the lives and sustainability of the programmes, that's when it becomes real.”
